Very sad news. A beautiful three-year old sub-adult grizzly that has been hanging around Obsidian Creek a little north of Roaring Mountain was mortally wounded on Sunday 5/22/22 by a mating couple in the same area. Park service arrived after the attack and decided to euthanize the young bear.

Very sad for me since I was at the park about a month ago and took numerous images of this beautiful sub-adult bear that was so well behaved and entertained so many park visitors.

Tough news, but 815 will likely soon produce more cubs we can view and enjoy.

Yeah, we feel the same. Just saw her last week again and kids were so excited to see her. So sorry because she was very well behaved and yet very visible. There is so much we don't understand with the animal world.
