We were in the area that day, but not at the time of the stampede. Saw a lot of stupidity. People running into the woods to get closer to a bull moose, abandoning the car to get closer to the bison-the usual. We were very careful knowing the bison were in there rut. Still, sometimes we ended up stuck a little close for comfort. I heard about the video but hadn’t seen it yet. Funny, never saw a park ranger at YNP, but they were at almost every pull-out at RMNP. People even took dogs on the boardwalks.
