Girl thrown by Bison

All over the 'net, for a day. A 9 year old girl was charged and thrown by a bison near Observation Point Trail.
“According to witnesses, a group of approximately 50 people were within 5-10 feet of the bison for at least 20 minutes before eventually causing the bison to charge the group,” the National Park Service wrote in a news release.
Easy for me to say from here, but the little girl did not appear to be seriously injured. Although she fell, she literally landed on her feet. Some reports said the Bison was being petted for a while beforehand.

On the other hand, it's not always possible to keep your distance from the big guys. A couple of times I've been standing and a Bison has walked over a rise within 10 feet of me. Once behind me so I didn't even know it was there until I turned around. So I just stood there and let them do their thing and they meandered away. What really upset me is I'm a picture taking fool and I figured I ought to just stand there and not take pictures.

She was apparently treated and released the same day, so not hurt too badly.

Another person was injured by a bison just a week later in North Dakota: https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/n ... 855539001/
