Yes, interesting read, and I'm so sad for Uptain and his family. From what I've seen, the grizzlies in and around YNP, have little or no fear remaining of humans. When I've been in the park, I mostly stay along the main roads, and the grizzlies I've seen appear to be mostly oblivious to human activity, but in remote areas and particularly during hyperphagia, I suspect the dynamic is a polar opposite. I would never hike in grizzly country, even if armed or carrying bear spray, as I do not trust my minimal skills to save me, and am not willing to take the risk of being the rare exception to the norm.
