After saying just two days ago that I didn't want to dominate the posting on this forum, here I am posting again. Drove into the Tetons Monday, June 8. Saw nothing as we drove in. We decided to hike a trail even though it was cloudy and chilly. But it was a beautiful hike. As we drove away from the trailhead, we decided to check again to see if any bears were out. As we got near the road junction just past Oxbow Bend saw lots of cars. We were able to get a parking space and to our right we could see 399 and her cubs in the field. Karen had some trouble with willows blowing in front of her view, but got a few decent shots.

We were amazed to see how much the cubs have grown in just the last 2 weeks since we had seen them. 399 is such a good Mom. She started to cross the road in front of us but saw too many people so she just headed past us and crossed the road behind us where she had a clean shot. What a privilege to see this family!

Thanks for posting this update. It is great to see the family. Don't feel guilty about posting any news here....you are one of the privileged few who have immediate access to the parks. I always appreciate your updates!

Great job finding 399! Must be so special seeing four cubs with one mom! We've never been so lucky. So envious of you being able to be in the park now. Our spring trip got scrubbed due to Covid.

Thanks for sharing!

Jeff, we were very fortunate to see 399 and her cubs so close. The first time we saw them it was only for a minute or two and they were about 150 yards away. We had been back several times without seeing her, so we really weren't expecting her to be out. Just goes to show you never know...

Sorry your spring trip had to be cancelled. When will you be able to make another trip?

Wow!!!!! Congratulations on your sighting and for posting your pix. I still remember the the first time that I saw and photographed Quadra Mom and her 4 cubs over by Swan Lake Flat in YNP almost a decade ago. What a thrill! That summer and the next 2 that followed were probably the most exciting and memorable years that I've ever had in the Park. Being able to photograph the cubs as they were growing up, was so exciting. I'm glad that you were able to capture a few pix of your most special sighting and share them with us. Thanks a bunch!! :)
