Spent the weekend mainly in the Tetons looking for bears and found many blacks but no Griz this trip. Wonderful weather!

Great shots! I need to get me one of those 150-600 mm lenses, as soon as I win the lottery! May I ask which 150-600 lens you use?

Thank you! I'm using the Sigma 150-600 contemporary. I've probably run around 100,000 shots through it and have been overall quite happy with it for the price. Fred Miranda has good prices on used ones and I would be confident picking one up there. I also tested the Sigma 60-600mm and was quite impressed with the sharpness. For those on a budget these superzooms are quite good.

Sorry you didn't see any grizz. Did you check Two Ocean Lake?

Thanks! I was just wondering if these lenses would be too long for my D7200, because of the crop factor. With the crop factor, 600mm becomes 900mm, and it might prove difficult or impossible to avoid blur.

Just a good bonus when you catch them, rangers had no sightings on Saturday. Was very hot and if I was a bear I would have stayed in a cool shady area. Have not been to Two Ocean Lake but will put it on the list. I was yearning for a kayak to float the river below Jackson Lake Dam, lots of floating devices enjoying the water. :)

The lens stabilization is quite good, I can shoot a fairly low shutter speed but the biggest drawback will be low light conditions with the 7200. I also handhold this lens 99% of the time.

Two Ocean Lake road is a good place to catch grizz in the fall. Don't know about summer. I've never been down it during summer and it's always closed in the spring.

We've seen griz both spring and fall along Two Ocean Lake road, but it isn't an all-the-time thing -- just occasionally. But usually see something interesting along there -- black and griz bears, saw a ruffed grouse displaying once, moose, woodpeckers, hawks, deer, elk. So definitely give it a go when you get a chance!

Thanks for all the photos from the Tetons. Some really great ones, and wow, you saw a LOT. We are unlikely to get up there again until late September (unless we can sneak out in early September), and even that may be shorter than usual, so I really appreciate the updates and photos to transport me to the parks.
