Pictures of Felicia and her COY's outside GTNP 2019

Post by Nikon_nerd »

A few pictures of a new sow "Felicia". I wrote about the trip a little here: https://yellowstone.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=386

Unfortunately we only got to see the cubs one day. There was an aggressive boar hanging around in the area harassing Felicia.

The light was pretty awful, but we had to deal with it the best we could.

Yeah, unfortunately, the lighter faced one was killed by the boar harassing her.

Wonderful shots! Love the whole series.
So sad that cub was lost -- same day as Obsidian lost one of hers, I think.

Wonderful captures of the interactions among the sow, and the cubs. I really like the image of the cub climbing on the back of the sow. Your images shows she is a very patient and loving mother. Good sequence of photos this grizzly family. Very lovely.

Unfortunately, I read Felicia got separated from her cub again last week -
"On June 18, a private citizen abruptly hazed her again while separated from her cub. There is an investigation on-going involving a Jackson Hole Security truck in the latter hazing. "

Jackson Hole News & Guide also reported that she might have been hit by a car. However Felicia is still alive.
Hope she and the cub will find each other.

I was over there on Sunday. The cub was by Turpin Meadows, Felicia was near the Holmes Cave trailhead about 3 miles east. Felicia looked and moved ok. If they don't find each other it doesn't bode well for cub #2.
