Re: Snail Kites on Lake Kissimmee

Rik, Great photos!!! I always wanted to see one but never have. Are they still endangered or have they made a comeback?

Re: U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service considering euthanizing grizzly sow Felicia

This is really disturbing but I'm not surprised. Wyoming Fish and Game uses every opportunity to kill bears, wolves or other predators. Why not get volunteers to control the traffic and reduce the speed limit to 45 over the pass? We have seen her several times and the traffic has always been off the...

Re: First wolf pups born in Colorado since 1940's

That is exciting news! Thanks for sharing the article. Hopefully, these pups will survive and be able to help establish a viable population along with the wolves that will be brought into Colorado. The vote to bring back the wolves barely passed, so there is some opposition. The greatest threat, how...

Great report! Thanks for sharing. Loved the photos, especially the birds. They can be a real challenge to photograph, but you got some great shots. Sounds like you got had a very productive trip in both parks. Glad it went well!

Felecia the Grizzly Has Twin Cubs June 2

Because Karen's grandmother passed away, we needed to make a trip back east. We left on May 23 with snow and slick roads, returning on June 2 to 79 degrees. On our way back we came through Togwotee Pass. We were wondering if Felecia, the grizzly who frequented the roadside with her cub two years ago...

Re: Wolf Hazing

Yes, this is in response to one of the young wolves coming close to a family in a picnic area last year. It is way overkill in my opinion. This is the approach with bears as well. We were observing Snow, the grizzly, along Lake Overlook. All the observers, as well as the bear, were acting appropriat...

Mike, Looks and sounds like you had a great trip! We saw some of the stuff that you did, but you saw a lot more with the bears and the wolves. You got some nice photos as well. Thanks for sharing. We'll have to check out the museum some time when we're out by Cody.

Re: Hiking to Grand Prismatic

Hi Dorothy, Hope you have a great trip. As for hiking to Grand Prismatic, I would encourage you to do it if you like the thermal features. I'm not usually big into the thermal features, but this is my favorite, one I enjoy seeing over and over. It is truly an iconic Yellowstone view, and something t...
