Re: Harriman and Henry's Lake Idaho
Did you see any wildlife while on that road? That would be my goal. We actually walked part of the paved section beyond where they plowed in April and didn't see anything except lots of moose poop. Talked to a guy that apparently lived along the road and he asked if we had seen any bears so they mu...

Re: Grand Teton and Yellowstone May 18, 19
the chance of seeing 399 and those cubs is makes things even more exciting. Dorothy, did you get to see her and the cubs? I heard they were out on Saturday. We went Sunday and they did not make an appearance, but we saw some others that we will post about when we get a chance. Just ended our 14-day...

Re: Harriman and Henry's Lake Idaho
I've always wanted to check out the nearby Fish Creek Road. Fish Creek road is a neat drive but I very much doubt you can get all the way through because of snow. The first time we drove it, it was early June. We came in from the south which is paved. I remarked what a nice road and no traffic! As ...

Grand Teton and Yellowstone May 18, 19
The parks finally opened on Monday May 18, so we decided to enter Grand Teton on Monday, drive home, and come back to both parks on Tuesday. We arrived at the Moose Wilson entrance about 11 AM, an hour before they were to open. Surprisingly there were only two other cars ahead of us. Turns out they ...

Re: Bear 399 has quadruplets!!!!
Any sign of 610? We saw what appeared to be Blondie with another bear (maybe sub-adult cub?) in the same area that we later saw 399 and her quads, But no 610. I did not see her last summer but heard she wandered quite a bit. Someone reported she got fed by tourists on Signal Mtn, but that could be ...

Re: Bear 399 has quadruplets!!!!
Just curious -- how crowded was it? I would assume that with a chance to actually get into the park, there was quite a crowd. The first day was less crowded than I thought it would be. We only went into the Tetons and there were people but I would say fewer than typical for that time of year. We we...

Re: Harriman and Henry's Lake Idaho
Idaho currently "strongly encourages" anyone coming in state from a community with substantial community spread to self quarantine for 14 days. That leaves a lot of wiggle room. Also any "vulnerable" individuals as defined by the CDC are strongly encouraged to stay at home. Again that leaves some ro...

Bear 399 has quadruplets!!!!
The most famous bear in the world is apparently about to add to her legacy. The parks opened today and Karen and I went into the Tetons. We saw bear 399 (according to several there who seemed in the know) with quadruplet cubs. We only got a short look as they moved into the trees and no pictures, bu...
