Re: Day trip snowmobiling to Canyon
Wait! Did you snowmobile all the way from Cody to Canyon? If not, where did the snowmobile part begin?

Great shots, and a great way to close out the southern entrances!

Re: GTNP/YNP early October 1-4 trip
Yes, I could not believe how low Jackson Lake was. I sure hope the snow and rain are heavy there this winter. I saw a number of other reservoirs in the area on my trip that were also extremely low. I see that they have been getting some snow around there since I left there a week ago. One other thin...

GTNP/YNP early October 1-4 trip
So, on Friday, my son and I were able to drive up to West Yellowstone for a late lunch at Old Town Cafe. On the way, we stopped by Mesa Falls, which was just beautiful in the afternoon light. These are the lower fall. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51539014937_2eb3270414_k.jpg 2021-10-01_12-17-...

Rik, would you care to share how you settled on Powell, as opposed to some of the other towns in the area, such as Cody or Lovell? If not, no problem.

Re: GTNP/YNP early October trip...
I made it to Pinedale and am staying in a hotel here tonight and then leaving tomorrow morning for Idaho Falls to pick up my son at the airport. BTW, the China Gourmet restaurant in Pinedale is really good! My son and I will be in and around Idaho falls for three days and head to Jackson on Sunday m...

Re: GTNP/YNP early October trip...
The elk rut will be winding down but you might catch some bugling. In GTNP, they can be anywhere at that time of year. The chances of seeing a grizz on Pacific or Pilgrim Creek are very good in October. Another place to see them might be down the Pelican Valley trail. Thanks very much, I'll have to...

GTNP/YNP early October trip...
Hi all, it looks like I'll make into GTNP and possibly YNP at the first of October. Can anybody tell me if the elk rut will still be on? Where is the best place to find them in GTNP? Also, are the chances decent to see grizzly bear around Pacific Creek Road and/or Pilgrim Creek Road at that time? An...
