Re: Best of 2017 (Non-Yellowstone)
Unlucky vole at the Ogunquit Museum of American Art in Ogunquit, Maine. I don't usually carry a 100-400 zoom to an art museum, but after seeing what I thought was a sculpture of a Great Blue Heron move slowly towards the reeds of the lily pond, I thought it might come in handy. https://farm5.staticf...

Re: End of May, 2017
Thanks Max. Trout Lake is such a nice short hike and you just never know what you're going to see. I'll probably include it every trip Otters or not! I need to get back again later in the season.
The only Otters I've seen are at our local zoo. Fun to watch even there tho!

Re: Ordered a new lens for the trip
Do you find the version III TC's to be much better than VII? I have the 1.4 and 2x VII and I'm not sure I'm in love with the 1.4. I have an older Tamron SP 1.4 that worked very well with my 300 and I'm tempted to revert to that. I'll try to do some more comparing. I'm really enjoying the 600, althou...

Re: End of May, 2017
Thank you! It's been fun watching the scenarios unfold (like the Coyote). Maybe we're just taking a deep breath and letting nature happen and seeing it more? The Osprey have been fishing near me and it's been fun watching (and shooting). Still haven't gotten that money shot yet!

Re: End of May, 2017
Well done, Rick! Seems like we always miss each other by a week or two. This year we didn't get to the Park until mid June. Next year, I'm going to bring a GoPro camera and an extended pole up to Trout Lake. Met a camper two years ago who had a GoPro and he took the most stunning video of the trout...

Re: Ordered a new lens for the trip
You will love it! The AF simply blows the old version out of the water! I picked a used one up locally last spring after selling my old version (the "stuffing" was falling out of the push pull zoom and it wasn't locking tightly anymore). My 7D2 was having issues so at first I wasn't impressed, but a...

That happens to me on my phone, but it keeps me logged in on my desktop. Knowing your schedule, I'm guessing you're on a mobile device?

Re: End of May, 2017
Great photos -- loved the red dog jumping and that coyote with the canada geese is spectacular! See, even Canada Geese can be a great photo subject if you get them at the right time (otherwise, they are a "oh, it's just Canada Geese"). Thanks, I agree! We had a whole lot of "Oh" moments the first f...

Re: End of May, 2017
Nice shots! I always joke that the geese in the park are jealous of all the other animals getting their photo taken. Looks like they are photobombing your shot of the coyote! Thanks! That was one of the few times we actually were able to watch a "hunt" transpire (I guess we're usually too impatient...
