Re: Big Black Bear Boar

You had me worried with the text of your post, but I'll assuage the possible fears of others and let them know you were just videoing the handsome animal while he was walking by.

Re: Beaver ponds

Just a bit later I'll bump the thread while wondering what the likelihood of seeing them in July might be.

Current thinking on Bear Spray?

I've got a can of Bear Spray that's a few years old, expiration date of 2017. Never been used, tested or anything like that. Should I just electively replace it or is it really good for a while yet? Obviously planning a trip to the park soon, this July. I'm not a real backwoods type, no backpacking ...

Re: Smugmug Acquires Flickr!

I use both imgur.com and postimage at times and have been happy doing so, unlike those who used Photobucket. But sooner or later the free sites are going to go away and if you're not hosting them yourself or paying for a service they will become unavailable.

Re: Alternate routes in

I've had and used Rand McNally atlases for decades, although rarely these days, I'm mostly here behind the keyboard making plans. We also usually have AAA maps, the wife doesn't like to travel anymore with out a GPS, we have been there half a dozen times or so, so we're not unfamiliar with it all. C...

Mike, if you're coming from...
Northern California, but I often have a stop or 3 in Utah, Montana or Washington along the way which obviously complicates things. Thanks though!

Re: Alternate routes in

Thanks for the input all, and it appears I should have been clearer. I'll be coming in from the west, not the east. Not til July so snow shouldn't be an issue. Shouldn't. I do have 4WD for getting to and thru places my car can't, but I'm not a hard core type nor is it a rockcrawler. My descri...

Alternate routes in

Planning the vacation and might have a little more flexibility than expected. I'm seeing roads such as Flagg ranch and highways 22 and 26 into GT on the way to Yellowstone. Is there any special wow factor on them or are they just a different route. We'd probably be heading into West Y'stone for a ni...

I don't go back until May, but I'll post shots here when I do. We don't have a forum for non-national-park photography, do we?
I'd put it in Non Yellowstone Discussions. Max and Bridger already have some absolutely stunning non Yellowstone photos in there.
