Re: Trip Report May 7

Glad you were able to see the wolf. We just missed a wolf as we drove out along the Madison. At least that is what people told us. It could have been as the carcass was nearby. Saw 2 grizzlies in Hayden but they were pretty far out so you didn't miss much there. Good luck on the rest of your trip. ...

Trip Report May 7

The road through the Hayden down to Bridge Bay opened today and I went in. Waste of time, except of course that I got to meet karenandbill at Grizzly Overlook, which was very cool. Other than that, there was NOTHING there, barely even any bison. I drove all the way to the Pahaska Teepee and ate lunc...

Trip Report May 6

I spent the whole day on the carcass out at Dorothy's and was rewarded by at least three and possibly four wolves from the Junction Butte pack, four different coyotes and a bald eagle. Someone wearing a road vest tried to haze the wolves by running after one of them and spraying paintballs at it. I ...

Trip Report May 5

Went out to the Lamar early, saw a moose at Round Prairie and that was about it. Went back out in the afternoon and went for a short hike at Hellroaring. On my way out, ran into Max Waugh and his son, who is incredibly cute. After that, I checked out the carcass at Elk Creek. It had a coyote and a b...

Trip Report May 4

Went out to the Lamar this morning and saw 6 moose between Pebble Creek and Warm Creek. On the way back, I saw four different black bears between Yellowstone Picnic Area through to Phantom Lake. After lunch, I drove out to Canyon. Got some nice pics of a red tail hawk but didn't see anything else. C...

Re: Trip Report May 1-3

Hey Rik, We were at the bison carcass as well. We did get to see the wolf there Thursday night and Friday morning. Stopped by a couple more times and haven't seen anything including today. At least you got a glimpse of the grizzly. Sounds like you have seen some cool stuff otherwise. Any luck with ...

Trip Report May 1-3

I arrived in Bozeman 1:30PM Saturday and after a trip to Walmart to stock up, headed for the park. Stopped at the bison carcass on the Madison and waited for an hour but then had to go check into my room. The next morning, I went back to the carcass. Ran into a lot of friends and acquaintances, but ...

Re: Automated Trolly Service

Ideally, I'd like to see a free bus service taking people from parking lots at Mammoth to other parts of the park like Old Faithful, Lake, Canyon, etc...
It would cut down on the car traffic.

Re: YNP Campgrounds Going Reservation 2021

I thought about booking a site at Mammoth this morning, but I already have a tent site reserved at Yellowstone RV park, and they have free showers, WiFI and a laundry. It's an extra ten minute drive, but I think I can live with it. I did book a couple nights at Gros Ventre.
