Re: NPS Press Release: Yellowstone (Partial) Reopening on May 18

Thanks for the info. Has there been any updated data on a possible opening date? I have been checking around and found one story (in the Bozeman newspaper? Can't remember) that said the Montana entrances wouldn't open before June 1. I have reservations in Gardiner on June 1, and will need to cancel ...

Re: I can now, but couldn't log on

Thank you! I had been having the same problem and could not figure out what to do (tried deleting cookies, tried contacting administrators, and nothing worked). I went ahead and hit the "I forgot my password" button and reset the password to the one I had always used and I can now sign in! Thanks ag...

Re: Finally, Yellowstone (and GT) in winter

Thanks! We DID have such a great trip and a wonderful experience. I still can't believe that the schedule at work fell that way, with TWO different weeks where I had a chance to run up to the parks and actually experience winter there. SO fortunate! And it was SO worth it. Hope you get a chance to g...

Re: Yellowstone and GTNP closed

Sigh -- I knew this was coming a while back, but it's had to swallow. Had plans for a couple of spring/early summer trips and now not certain either will happen. But OK, we'll get through this and hopefully someday soon can be back in the park.

Re: New Photos: Yellowstone Winter 2020 Wildlife & Scenery

Great photos! Thanks so much, as it reminds me of our trip (didn't see this variety, but still had a great trip) and of the incredible beauty and variety that is Yellowstone. Had plans to go to Yellowstone in early May and early June, but not sure either will happen. Still holding out hope, but if n...

Re: Snowy Owl!!!

Yes, we did see some blue geese mixed in -- several different color combos -- one was ALL black/blue, from head to tail. It was really interesting. Also some with white heads and "blue" bodies, and some younger ones with mixed phases. REALLY a lot of fun to see all the different looks. We didn't see...

Re: Snowy Owl!!!

Congrats -- what a great sighting! Y'know, every time you see something great, it always leaves you hungry to find another one of those I've-always-wanted-to-see-that experiences. It just never ends -- wildlife/bird watching is such fun! I'm so excited for you, and glad you made it safely through th...

Re: Finally, Yellowstone (and GT) in winter

Thanks Bill (and Karen)! It was really a wonderful two trips -- we totally enjoyed the experiences and just want to go back again. The golden eagles were amazing -- the one that was down on the carcass flew back into a tree once we slowed down to park, so we watched it into the tree and said hey, th...

Finally, Yellowstone (and GT) in winter

Well, we finally did it! My sister and I made it to Yellowstone (and Grand Teton) for short winter trips. Not nearly long enough in either place, and we didn't see most of what we hoped to see, but still, a couple of magical, short trips. I happened to have two weeks in January where I had an early ...

Great report and beautiful photos! Thanks so much for sharing. AND I'm impressed that you made the hike -- it would be much more than I could do. Very impressive.
