Obsidian is out as well, with three COY.
Thanks Rik! That's good to know. Will be looking out for them.

Re: Parks Spring Update--Bears, Wolves, and more

Thank you for the trip report Bill! Especially about the news on the Beryl Springs sow and her COYS! She is our favorite bear in the park, and we are getting ready to leave for our only trip to the park this year. We really want to see her, and appreciate the good news about her and her COY's! Thank...

Well, that's because no one except me and a couple of other people actually post here anymore.
Well you're correct that few people post here anymore, it's evident that many people still come to read the posts and look at the posted photos, which is nice.

Re: Big Boar Grizz - April 2022

Wow, great shots! Don't you just love those claws? He looks to be quite old to me, reminds me a little bit of Scarface in his later years. Thanks for posting. You and Rik get such great photos. --Bill Thank you for your kind words Bill! Yeah, this guy has definitely survived a few battles during hi...

She is a great looking bear! We got to see her this year also with her suitor. Glad you got such great photos.

--Bill
Thanks very much Bill! It's much more fun taking photos of her now that she doesn't have a collar on.

Big Boar Grizz - April 2022

We've been to the park for many years, and typically we've only seen sows near the main park roads. Usually boars don't come near the roads unless it is mating season and a sow is present. This year we saw this lone boar hanging out near the road, a little north of Roaring Mountain, initially with n...

Obsidian Creek sow - April 2022

A few images of the Obsidian Creek sow. All images were taken on the same afternoon. A boar was in the area at the time and they grazed together for awhile. The boar had been in the area previously. This was the first (and only) time we saw Obsidian on this particular trip. Please feel free to comme...
