Re: Wolves today Sept 9

Nice that you saw so many bears. Are there grizzly's around there? That looks like a pretty tough hike. Yeah, the hike was pretty steep, but it was on Karen's bucket list so we did it. We made it fine but only went part way around the lake and decided that was enough. Beautiful hike though with 3 w...

Re: Pics from my early May trip.

"Nice. Isn't that Prince of Wales Hotel at Waterton amazing?! Did you happen stay in it?" We love Waterton and would like to stay at the Prince of Wales, but it is a bit pricey. We stayed about 10 miles outside the park at a nice little place that had a small restaurant/store out front. They gave a ...

I'll be heading to GT next week for a few days, then on to Yellowstone.
Hope you had a good trip. This week we headed up to Waterton, with a quick stop in Glacier. It was a lot of fun! Just got back this evening.

Re: Bear That killed Female Jogger Euthaned after breaking into home

once they start getting into human food, particularly in houses, it gets very dangerous. Yeah, there are a lot of people in this area who are very lax about leaving out garbage and other sources of food. There have been a number of bears killed aver the last few years because of this. They talk abo...

Wolves today Sept 9

We decided to head to Lamar this morning on a mission to see wolves. Driving through the valley Karen spotted a bear on the far side of the river. There was no good place to park and we were on a quest for wolves so we kept going. Just past Soda Butte Cone there were cars off the road and scopes out...

Re: Summer Update

Do you know if the Shrimp Lake pack had any pups that survived? [/quote] I don't know if the Shrimp Lake Pack had puppies. We didn't see them this summer. Thanks for posting the beautiful pics. I drove through the Lake area and Hayden Valley, and half way up to Dunraven on August 28, but only saw a ...

Summer Update

With fall fast approaching, I thought I'd better post a few pictures from this spring/summer. They are up under the photography tab. We have seen quite a few bears, especially early in the season. Wolf sightings were fewer and further away with no good photos. The Junction Buttes have been around Sl...
