Re: 7/10-7/12/2020
Thanks! I was just wondering if these lenses would be too long for my D7200, because of the crop factor. With the crop factor, 600mm becomes 900mm, and it might prove difficult or impossible to avoid blur.
The lens stabilization is quite good, I can shoot a fairly low shutter speed but the ...

Sorry you didn't see any grizz. Did you check Two Ocean Lake? Just a good bonus when you catch them, rangers had no sightings on Saturday. Was very hot and if I was a bear I would have stayed in a cool shady area. Have not been to Two Ocean Lake but will put it on the list. I was yearning for a kay...

Re: 7/10-7/12/2020
Great shots! I need to get me one of those 150-600 mm lenses, as soon as I win the lottery! May I ask which 150-600 lens you use? Thank you! I'm using the Sigma 150-600 contemporary. I've probably run around 100,000 shots through it and have been overall quite happy with it for the price. Fred Mira...

Re: NPS Campgrounds
Camped at Grant Friday night and Signal Mountain in the GTNP Saturday night. Still just the 4 Xanterra CG's open in Yellowstone. Every Park employee I talked to had no idea when the rest would open. On the bright side gas was just $2.18 at Colter Bay.

No on camera traps. Too Big-Brother like.
I hate the traps also but I'm not sure how else you can slow people down without Rangers and radar guns. I will never understand the need for speed in a place like Yellowstone.

We spent the weekend in the Tetons in search of 399 and her cubs but unfortunately missed them. We did see the siblings just south of Pilgrim Creek on Saturday and just missed 610 at Oxbow bend. Mosquitoes were voracious in some areas but tolerable while camping at Signal CG. http://live.staticflick...

Re: Mike Enzi op-ed on raising NP entrance fees
I also agree to raise the International tourist fees. When I visit the South African National Parks I pay 4.5 times the entry fee of a South African national and don't mind at all knowing I am helping these Parks survive for future generations. In addition to raising fees how about some camera traps...
