I think finding anything in YS is going to be tough at this late date. So if you want to be in the park, I'd grab anything I could get. There is lodging available in Cooke City or West Yellowstone which is just outside the park.

Bill's Backyard Birds
With winter still having its icy grip over most of the country, I thought we could all use a bit of encouragement that spring is just around the corner and the birds will be making their way back north. Winter in the Smokies
We decided to leave the cold and snow of Idaho for a break to the warmth of the Southeast. We had lived for four years in Tennessee a while ago, but remembered the winters as being fairly mild. We enjoy hiking and thought it would be a great place to warm up and be able to get outside. This was what...

Better late than never
. Thanks for posting. We really enjoyed seeing the photos. We've never had the opportunity to be in the Old Faithful Inn without the multitudes, but appreciated getting a new perspective on a familiar place.

Re: September / October Conditions
Good advice from the above posters. The only thing I would add is that this year it was crowded into October. This is probably an aberration due to Covid. However, it was still great! Also, you will need to see what lodging is still available. Fall colors can vary from year to year, but late Septemb...

Good for you, PJ, that you saw one. That is definitely on my wish list, but not expected. What area in the park did you see one? This one apparently was near Mammoth.
